Phil Chavez is a certified Executive and Empowerment Coach having acquired hundreds of International Coach Federation (ICF)-approved hours in schooling and mentoring in these respective fields. He is the founder and owner of Breakthrough Coaching LLC.

About Phil


In addition to his coaching certification, Phil has experience in the professional world as a real frontline problem solver. He has served as an elected judge for 20+ years with 10 of those years serving as Chief Judge of his respective district. He earned his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, lettering in football as a member of the 1994 Rose Bowl Championship team, and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Phil has been recognized city and state-wide for his outstanding work assisting others. He has won numerous community awards such as the University of Wisconsin Forward Under 40 Award, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Roberto Hernandez Award, Wisconsin Lawyer Magazine Legal Innovators Award and the Wisconsin Veterans Stand Down Inc. Founder’s Award for Assisting Homeless and Indigent Veterans. He is active in Veterans Stand Down where he provides community court for homeless and indigent veterans, was a certified substitute teacher for grades K-12, was a high school football coach for 24 years, sat on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics-Wisconsin for 11 years, and currently sits on two boards at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
